YouthBuild Day at the State House
YouthBuild's 14th Annual Day at the State House was a rousing success this year. Students and staff from across the Commonwealth gathered in the Great Hall of the State House in Boston. Speakers included the Secretary of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development Joanne Goldstein, Representative Byron Rushing, President and founder of YouthBuild USA Dorothy Stoneman, and YouthBuild Brockton graduate Patrick Breton. Several young people who are currently enrolled in a Massachusetts YouthBuild program had a chance to share their stories with those assembled. After lunch, YouthBuild participants met with their representatives and senators in the State House to share their stories. The energy harnessed from the event in the morning resulted in focused enthusiasm that was shared with the legislators of Massachusetts in the afternoon.
