Jul 8, 2011- Read about the highly successful YouthBuild Brockton class of 2011, who collectively attained 18 GEDs, 46 AmeriCorps Education Awards, and an attendance rate over 90%, on the Old Colony Y's Facebook Page.

June 16, 2011- Congratulations to the 20 newest YouthBuild graduates from YouthBuild Fall River, including Phiroth Khourn who received YouthBuild USA's Rudy Award for Perfect Attendance. Read The Herald News coverage.
June 10, 2011- YouthBuild Lawrence students and staff were among the 300 volunteers on hand June 9 working to build a playground at the Arlington School in Lawrence. Read the Eagle-Tribune article.
May 26, 2011- YouthBuild Quincy was one of two MYBC programs (along with YouthBuild Just-A-Start) to receive Department of Labor YouthBuild funding in 2011. The $808,200 award will allow YB Quincy to provide education and workforce training to more students and have a greater impact on its program community through the construction and rehab of affordable housing. Following this announcement, Boston.com published a gallery of photos that show YB Quincy at work.
April 22, 2011- Clive McFarlane of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette gives his thoughts on the challenges and triumphs surrounding the partnership between YouthBuild Worcester, Saint-Gobain, and the Main South Community Development Corp. Apr 7, 2011- Congratulations to Derrick Sanders, who will be the first YouthBuild Brockton graduate to serve in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Conversation Corps (NCCC). Derrick will join Sam McKenzie (YB Boston graduate) in representing the Coaltion in NCCC. NCCC members engage in a 10 month residential service program for young adults with a mission of building communities and developing leaders. Read the press release.

Mar 30, 2011- Lashon Amado (YB Brockton graduate) told his story to The Brockton Enterprise surrounding the upcoming Youth Summit to be held at the Brockton Boys & Girls Club Teen Center on Friday, April 1 from 10a-2p. The Summit was organized by MYBC students to advocate for YouthBuild funding. Read the Enterprise article.
Mar 26,2011- McKaila Coulter of YouthBuild New Bedford is doing all she can to see that YouthBuild programs across the country are fully funded. She recently stood before State Senator Mark C.W. Montigny and State Reps. Antonio F.D. Cabral and Stephen R. Canessato advocate for YouthBuild New Bedford and other social programs. Read the South Coast Today article.
Mar 15, 2011- The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB), a non-profit community development corporation with a mission of "building and sustaining strong communities where people of all incomes can achieve there full potential", recently hired their first MYBC YouthBuild graduate. Steven Ibanez graduated from Just-A-Start Youthbuild Cambridge/ Chelsea and will now put those skills to good use as a maintenance technician at TCB's Franklin Park and South End apartments in Boston. Mar 8, 2011- President Obama visited Boston and his motorcade was greeted by MYBC students from Boston, Cambridge/ Chelsea, Fall River, and New Bedford. Our students made sure their voices in support of YouthBuild funding were heard in this Boston ABC 5 (WCVB) story.
Feb 24, 2011- CTI YouthBuild Lowell's weatherization work through a Mass Clean Energy Center Clean Energy Equipment Grant is mentioned on the Mass.gov "Energy Smarts" blog. Read the blog
Feb 10, 2011- YouthBuild Boston is joining the party! The Boston Tree Party, that is. The Boston Tree Party is a collaborative campaign to plant 100 pairs of heirloom apple trees in civic spaces across greater Boston. YouthBuild Boston students will serve as the "Apple Corps", answering questions and making site visits to perform maintenance as necessary.Read the Boston.com article
Feb 9, 2011- Harold Rosa, YouthBuild Brockton graduate, describes his experience with YouthBuild. After completing the program, Harold went on to intern at the Eagle Eye Institute as part of YouthBuild USA's Green Industry Career Pathways initiative and hopes to one day become a nature photographer. The MYBC wishes him good luck in this pursuit and thanks YouthBuild USA for the great interview
Jan 1, 2011- In the spirit of service, YouthBuild Fall River students and graduates have teamed up with the City of Fall River to shovel out senior and disabled residents in need. Young people from YouthBuild Boston and YouthBuild Cambridge/ Chelsea were in attendance, along with featured guests Charles Ogletree and Hill Harper. Jan 26, 2011- Governor Patrick's proposed FY 2012 budget, released January 26th, includes $1.3 million for MYBC programs, keeping state funding level with FY 2011.
